Frequently Asked Questions

Below you will find the most frequently asked questions that we receive when discussing iPhone application development. The questions and responses below are standard practice when working with App Ventures, LLC so you can rest assured that we will provide you the highest quality service you'll find when searching through the ever growing number of iPhone application development companies.

1. How does this process work?

This is usually the first question potential clients have when we first contact them after submitting their information via the Request Services form to the right, and it's a very good question.

Getting acquainted with you to find out what type of project you are looking to develop is a very important step in beginning an iPhone application development project. This would include formal introductions and some time spent discussing the various aspects of having iPhone apps developed.

App Ventures, LLC encourages the utilization of Non-Disclosure Agreements to help ensure your idea won't be taken and developed without your knowledge.

2. How much will the project cost?

App Ventures, LLC usually puts together a proposal with a per project cost which keeps overall cost's down for the client, and ensures the developer works diligently to compete the project in a timely manor.

When discussing the cost of a project, you the customer must take into consideration that the development of an iPhone application is not the same as building a website, and consider the fact that it is an actual program or software rather.

Apple has made it a bit easier to build iPhone applications with the use of Objective-C which is the dominate programming language for iPhone application development, and the availability of the SDK(Software Development Kit) allows stand frameworks which are blocks of code already written to be integrated into an application.

3. Which is better, per hour billing or per project billing?

Because we can't sit and watch all of our developers every second of the day, bidding out projects as a whole makes it possible to provide a competitive price and again ensure projects get done quickly, accurately, and bug free simply because every hour the developer spends fixing bugs, reworking bad code, or not including essential parts of a project cost them money.

There is only two ways that a developer should bill you for services rendered. The first being on a per hour basis which could be an advantageous opportunity for someone who has an easy project and a master developer who can produce a finished application within a couple of days, the other would be on a per project basis. The per project basis is as mentioned the way App Ventures, LLC proposes projects simply because it saves the customer potentially thousands of dollars on building an iPhone application.

There are pro's and con's to both methods mentioned above but previous experiences have indicated that a per project proposal is the best solution for our customers.

4. What methods of payment do we accept and how do we bill for projects?

App Ventures, LLC offers multiple methods of payment for funding the development of projects which include the following:

  • Chase Bank Deposit or Funds Transfer (No Fees)
  • Paypal (3% fee added to full contract amount)
  • Back Wire ($15 fee added to each payment via Wire International Wire Fee $50)
  • Cashiers Check (local Utah clients only)

Every project requires a 33% deposit based on the total cost of the project as per the signed work contract, with a payment of 33% at time of testable release, and the remaining 34% due at the time of project completion prior to source code being released to client.

5. Is there a resource for helping to put together an application idea?

Upon contact from App Ventures, LLC we can provide a resource that will help put together a presentable application idea that will help you determine everything you want your app to do, and also help build an idea of how it should look.

6. What is the cost to publish an iPhone application on iTune in the App Store?

Every application publisher is required to choose either the Standard Program which is oddly enough the standard choice for any company or individual with intentions of selling the iPhone applications via iTunes, or the Enterprise Program which is designed for corporation or other companies that do not intend on selling application but rather in house to selected individuals with the need for the app.

  • Standard Program - $99 per year
  • Enterprise Program - $299 per year
